Founded in 1152 by Benedictine monks, the traditions of the monastery in Allmannshofen-Holzen are continued today by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph's Congregation. This spirit can also be experienced by our hotel guests: in the architecture, the monastery church, the chapel and the grotto.

The Hotel Kloster Holzen is a very special place. A powerful place of spirit and history. The former Benedictine monastery in Allmannshofen-Holzen was converted into a hotel in 2011 – and it is here where two axles cross paths: the Benedictine axles (Ora et Labora) and the earthly axles (Vita Activa and Vita Passiva). Everything has its time and place here: work as well as relaxation, the love of life and spirituality.

In addition to inn and hotel guests, people with disabilities also find a home and a place of work in Kloster Holzen. They are looked after and supported by the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk. The products, which are lovingly handmade here, can be purchased in the Kloster Holzen shop.

The entire monastery complex is designed to be barrier-free. This means that guests with special needs can also enjoy a holiday in our hotel near Augsburg without any impediments to their freedom of movement.
